In the time that we live in today, our aesthetic, our prestige, our class, and our taste is all leading up to an image that we want to form for ourselves, and it is safe to say that Apple Inc. is really the steering wheel of this shift in lifestyle. Since 1976, when Apple was founded, the organization has managed to gain a name in the market that sets it apart from its competitors. Be it computers, laptops, phones, watches, etc., Apple has managed to bring that perfect blend of “simple yet elegant” on the table that no one has been able to move the spot light away from it. Despite its high prices, consumers have been noticed to have a preference for the brand like none other.

In March 2019, Apple introduced the Apple Card, the very first of its kind. Mesmerized by the beauty of it, I thought it was only fair to talk about it together, you and me. So here are my two cents on it.

Gorgeous is the word that comes to my mind. Its sleek. Its elegant. Its Titanium!

For those of you who don’t know yet, Apple card will act as a credit card starting summer 2019. With Goldman Sachs acting as the issuing bank, and Mastercard as the payment system, the Apple card aims to help customers lead a healthier financial life.

Talking about the more technical side of the card, in order to sign up for the Apple card, all user have to do is visit the Wallet App in their iPhones and viola. The card helps the user track their daily transactions in the palm of their hands, and also color codes them for a user-friendly experience. For example, transactions for food (red), drinks(yellow), clothing(green) will be clearly labeled along with the seller, location, etc., all thanks to the Apple Maps, and recorded. Summaries of these spending will then be reported in the user’s phone, along will categorized colors for different types of expenditure, thus providing the user more knowledge and financial help to save better. The card also is said to have a feature of daily cash back, with 3% daily cash back on purchases directly from Apple, and 2% daily cash back if purchases are made from elsewhere. How economical is that! The card itself has no fees, no hidden charges, and lowest interest, with high level security and big names backing the ideation.

All that sounds like a great deal, but I do want to shed some light of the design of the card itself. Because that of course is the most exciting thing of all!

When I first saw the card, I just wondered why nobody had thought of the idea of a sleek and simple looking titanium card ever before? Its just so perfect! The card is made out of the most expensive metal out there, titanium. Titanium is light, strong, corrosion resistant, flexible, and biocompatible, making it perfect to be used for a credit card. The front side of the card contains mainly 3 things; the card holders name, the credit card chip, and of course the Apple logo (you have to have something you can show off right?). The back side of the card, again the epitome of elegance, has the logos of Goldman Sachs, Mastercard, and then a magnetic stripe in the bottom.

I believe that with this design, Apple has tried to attract its customers that look for grace in the product. And I do believe that it has done a pretty good job. I cannot wait for it to come out! (If it ever comes to Pakistan that is)
